MPICH-A Portable Implementation of MPI

MPI(Message-Passing Interface) is a library specification for message-passing, proposed as a standard by a broadly based committee of vendors, implementors, and users.

MPICH uses standard setup scripts. You must type

setup mpich

to use this application. (by default mpich- is set-up here) 

See "helpme setup" for information on finding out what versions are available or what to do if the setup statement does not work.

Running MPICH

To get started running/using MPI you must read the manual by typing

man MPI

Known Bugs

MPI does not currently work on HPUX workstations. We are trying to resolve this problem.


MPICH version 1.2.5 is tested and works on the Solaris machines.
