Majordomo automates management of mailing lists; users can subscribe to or unsubscribe from lists on their own, and the "list owner" can modify some of the list's behaviour.

Running Majordomo 1.94.4

Majordomo works entirely through e-mail. The body of any message sent to majordomo@engr.scu.edu (or list-specific -request addresses) is treated as a list of majordomo commands.

The major commands are

The list-name may be omitted if the mail is addressed to a list-specific -request address. If user@address is omitted, the address of the person sending the e-mail is used.

If user@address is omitted, the address of the person sending the e-mail is used; if an e-mail address is given, a message will be sent to that address to ask for confirmation before the address is added to the mailing list. Some lists may require the list owner to approve subscribe/unsubscribe commands.
