Hspice is a general purpose circuit simulation program.

Availability

Hspice is available on all HP.

Hspice is available on all Sun Unix workstations, but not through Reflection.

Hspice is not available on Linux machine.


Preparation

To use this application, type the following command:

setup hspice

See "helpme setup" for information on finding out what versions are available or what to do if the setup statement does not work.


Running

Two applications are available, hspice and awaves.

  • Hspice - circuit simulation
  • To run Hspice, type:
    hspice inputfile > outputfile &

  • Awaves - waveform viewer for Hspice
  • Cadence supplies a "user friendly" utility for displaying graphical output from HSPICE, i.e., the files with filename extension .sw* .ac* .tr*. To use this graphics display utility, at the shell command prompt type:
    awaves
